Federal Court’s Orders Finding Arpaio and Montgomery’s Practices Unlawful Will Not be Appealed; County Agrees to Pay Nearly $1 Million to Plaintiffs for Attorneys’ Fees and Costs
The Phoenix Police Department today released an internal “after action” report about its officers’ indiscriminate use of chemical irritants and other forms of excessive force on peaceful protesters who were gathered in opposition to a rally held by President Trump.
“People who were given sentences with the possibility of parole should not have that opportunity pulled out from under them,” said ACLU of Arizona Legal Director Kathy Brody.
More than 2,600 petition signatures from people demanding action on discriminatory enrollment policies will be delivered this morning to the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools, which authorizes nearly all public charter schools in the state.
