Ayanna was born in Columbus, Ohio, and grew up in Mesa. They feel strong ties to the diverse and vibrant people of the state of Arizona. As a low-income, queer, person of color, they are deeply passionate about building agency in their community. Their work extends across a variety of civil liberty issues, ranging from reproductive rights, criminal justice reform, LGBTQ+ rights, and restoring democracy.
Ayanna attended Northern Arizona University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Community Engagement. Their educational background, combined with their professional and lived experience, amplifies their dedication to building a better future for the people of Arizona. They are committed to ensuring their community is represented and has their voices heard. Ayanna looks forward to continuing the work that must be done to promote equity, justice, and prosperity for all Arizonans.
