Shelby has a background of aiding in giving a voice to vulnerable populations and in identifying, analyzing, and improving existing organizational business processes. During her time at Arizona State University, she was able to hone in on her passion for nonprofit work through the organization Changemaker. In her previous position at Food for the Hungry she engaged in work relating to advocating for marginalized communities and developed a passion for gender equality. She routinely looked for ways to improve organizational efficiency through process improvement. Shelby is also passionate about LGBTQIA rights and housing for all, as it is a human right. She specializes in developing relationships and working with diverse groups and perspectives to create change. In her new position as Development Associate she hopes to use her skills of quality improvement and engagement to create tangible results.
