Dora Mejia’s daughter, Cynthia, is a member of the LGBT community. As a mother, she has become involved in fighting for the equal treatment of all people regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Dora works with the Arcoiris Liberation Team and the Queer undocumented Immigrant Project as well as the ACLU, to help make Arizona more inclusive of all people.
Dora never want to hear that her daughter or anyone else’s child has been refused service by a business or government official, denied an apartment or fired from a job because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. She wants to make Arizona a more welcoming place that accepts people simply as they are and not discriminate.
