Sarah E. Smith, a passionate philanthropist and arts educator, is the ACLU of Arizona's Major Gifts Officer. A former teacher, Sarah received her Master of Music from ASU in 2010 and began her professional career in Phoenix as a concert soloist and music educator. Sarah’s teaching experiences span 15 years from private music instruction for all ages, to elementary art and music instruction, and finally music history and vocal performance instruction as an adjunct professor of music at Mesa, Paradise Valley, and Central Arizona Community Colleges. After transitioning into arts administration, Sarah took a philanthropic focus leading to her role as Senior Individual Giving Manager with the Arizona Opera, where she helped double the organization’s core group of supporters, and regularly outperformed annual revenue goals by bringing in new donors and increased donations. Sarah is dedicated to continuing her philanthropic work with the ACLU, strengthening our efforts in the fight for justice by connecting activists and philanthropists to projects that they are eager to support. In her free time, Sarah still sings professionally around the valley and is a passionate international traveler, an aunt to 3 brilliant nieces, and a dog mom.
